Charlotte Thompson
Programme Director, Executive Education, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership
Charlotte has 15 years’ experience in digital and content marketing, strategy and transformation. She has worked both agency-side and client-side, leading international marketing and media strategies for brands across the fast-moving consumer goods, finance, tourism, technology and wellness industries. Charlotte has partnered with agencies across the Dentsu, WPP, Omnicom and Publicis groups alongside tech, network and publishing giants like Google, LinkedIn and Bloomberg. She has worked for one of the largest destination marketing organisations in the world, is a former Global Manager of Digital Strategy, Capabilities & Content at American Express and co-founder of a start-up that assessed marketing and labelling claims and promoted sustainable products, lifestyles and narratives. Charlotte is a Programme Director in CISL’s Executive Education team.
Dr Victoria Hurth
Fellow, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership; Visiting Fellow, Judge Business School, University of Cambridge
Victoria has 25 years’ experience in marketing, management and sustainability, having previously worked for 3M, Accenture and with companies including Marks and Spencer and Cancer Research. Victoria works at the intersection of academia and business to utilise marketing as a driving force towards a sustainable future. A former associate professor of marketing and sustainable business, Victoria is a technical author for the first national standard specifying the Worldviews, Principles and Behaviours of Purpose-Driven Organisations (PAS 808) and co-led the first ISO standard in Governance of Organisations (ISO 37000). As a member of the UNCTAD/UNEP task force, Victoria supported the development of core SDG indicators for business. She continues to hold a number of consulting, academic and board roles across multiple organisations and previously, the Chartered Marketing Institute. Her work has been published in various journals, including Nature Climate Change, Energy Policy, New Scientist and Sustainable Development.
